Managing Chaos

How do you manage chaos?  First you stop, then you breathe and last but not least, you ask for help. Event planning can get pretty chaotic, especially when the event is drawing near and you are finalizing all those last minute details. One thing I have learned this week is that nobody expects you to do everything by yourself.

Everyone here at Essential Details makes up a very talented team who together I believe could conquer just about anything you throw their way. Everyone has certain events they are in charge of, but if there is something that you feel like you need help with, there are many people here that will do everything they can to help you.

As you can imagine, this “team mindset” really helps me as an intern because I am still at the beginning stages and still trying very hard to learn everything I need to know about becoming an Event Coordinator. It makes me feel good knowing that if I am unsure of something or don’t understand a task given to me, I am able to yell into the next cubicle or page someone here to see if they know the answer. Everyone here is so welcoming and patient and I could not ask for a better group of people to be my mentors.

In my opinion, the most successful event will be a result from teamwork. As Jen would say, “Let me pick your brain for a second!”  When you ask for other opinions, or you “pick someone’s brain,” you will have so many creative ideas to work with. They may think of things you would have never thought of.  Because everyone here is so willing to work as a team, they create some of the most amazing and beautiful events I have ever seen. All of the chaos is easily manageable if you trust your coworkers, lighten your load and get a little help from your friends!
